Khukush Langar Lake: The Unexplored Beauty

Khukush Langar Lake, commonly known as Baha Lake, is in Ghizer District’s Shandur Valley Tehsil Gupis. Baha Lake is a large body of groundwater teeming with fishes and has a sky-blue tint. With an estimated length of about 5 kilometers, it is one of the longest lakes in the Gilgit Baltistan region. It is also part of the Shandur National Park. Baha Lake is accessible via a 3-hour hike from the Langer-Shandur Road, which then goes to the Swat Valley in KPK province over a steep mountain pass.

The terrain elevation above sea level is estimated to be 3,622 metres. It travels in a north-south direction. Baha is in the Phander Valley’s Langer Khukush Nala.

The color of Baha Lake is sky blue. It is Gilgit Baltistan’s longest natural lake.

In Khukush Nala, there are four magnificent lakes, including Baha Lake.

Phander Lake: The crystal blue Phander Lake is in the Phander Valley, in a cup-shaped area surrounded by mountains on all sides. It is fed by a connection canal from the Gilgit river. The lake’s colors shift depending on the time of day, ranging from blue to deep green. The lake is known for trout, however catching them is tough due to a lot of algae around the banks.

Shandur Lake: is one of Pakistan’s most beautiful lakes. It is in the Gilgit Baltistan area, with a high mountain pass connecting it to Chitral and Gilgit. Because the upper part of the lake is flat, it is also known as the Roof of the World. It’s awe-inspiring in its beauty. Its splendor is enhanced by the clouds that float above it. There is usually a temperature of 14 degrees Celsius there. Tourists are drawn to Shandur because of the abundance of vegetation.

Kurumbar Lake: is an elevated lake in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan, located between Yasin and Iskoman. It is Pakistan’s second largest lake and the world’s 31st highest lake. It is regarded as one of the main attraction’s lakes.

Hundarap Lake:  is in Hundarap village, a little lovely settlement west of the Phander valley. Hundarap Lake is known for catching fish and is an excellent camping spot that has been designated by the Worldwide Fund for Nature as a higher elevation’s wetland.
