  1. Day 1 WINNIPEG

    Upon arrival in Winnipeg, you will be welcomed by an assistant who will answer any questions you may have. Proceed to your hotel from here.

    Experience a privately guided tour through Winnipeg, known as the wonderful city of trees. After meeting your private driver-guide at your hotel, set off for the Forks National Historic Site, Winnipeg’s original “meeting place”, to view its unique outdoor and indoor market. Across the new Esplanade Riel Bridge, visit Winnipeg’s French Quarter (St. Boniface) and the beautiful St. Boniface Cathedral, the oldest cathedral in Western Canada. The Cathedral’s cemetery is home to the grave of legendary Louis Riel, the famous Métis leader and founder of Manitoba. Tour through the Exchange District, observing its exceptional collection of terracotta and cut stone architecture. This thriving neighborhood is home to an array of restaurants, nightclubs, art galleries, and Winnipeg’s own theater district. The neighborhood’s cobblestone streets and friendly pedestrian environment also contribute to its popularity as a backdrop for today’s movie industry. Stop and view the Legislative Building, the beautiful homes of Wellington Crescent, and Winnipeg’s 393-acre Assiniboine Park, where you’ll have the opportunity to walk through the unique Leo Mol Sculpture Garden, featuring bronze sculptures, porcelains, paintings, and sketches by celebrated Winnipeg artist Leo Mol. Your tour concludes with a private transfer back to your Winnipeg hotel.

  2. Day 2 WINNIPEG TO SEAL RIVER

    After checking out of your hotel, proceed to walk independently to Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport.

    Fly out from Winnipeg Airport to Churchill Airport before boarding a flight to Seal River Heritage Lodge.

     

    Upon your arrival, your hosts will provide a tour of the Lodge and get you settled into your room. A thorough orientation on travel in polar bear country will be provided prior to any outings. Unwind in your accommodation, or choose to experience the beautiful Hudson Bay coast for the first time. Ensure your camera battery is charged – you’ll be eager to document each and every moment in this extraordinary and rare ecosystem.

  3. Day 3 SEAL RIVER

    Your daily adventure begins with a departure from the lodge at 9.30 am each day, and today you’ll set out by boat to view beluga whales, seals, seabirds, and polar bears. The lodge’s marine tours are conducted in large, nine-man inflatable boats, fully equipped with two-way radios, safety gear, flotation jackets for each passenger, and a hydrophone so that that you can listen to the whale songs. Each expedition is a half-day in order to coordinate with the high tides. Beluga whales are very curious and social and will investigate your presence with bold courage expressed by few other creatures. Getting up-close and personal with these majestic creatures is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. Prepare to see hundreds of whales per outing!

    Refreshments and snacks will be served aboard.

    Witness the greatest light show on earth during the summer at the Seal River Lodge. The northern skies are a perfect ballroom for the aurora borealis, but remember, the northern lights are best photographed with a tripod so make sure to brings your lens.

  4. Day 4 SEAL RIVER

    Enjoy a full-day walking trek and experience the sheer vastness of the Arctic’s flora and fauna. Nesting bird life, fox dens, wildflowers, and sik-siks are just a few of the sights you may take in. When polar bears are sighted, your guide will advise you about the best way to maintain a safe viewing distance. Return to the lodge to warm up with some hot drinks and tasty appetizers.

  5. Day 5 SEAL RIVER

    Today you’ll see the incredible Hudson Bay coast aboard one of the lodge’s custom-made Tundra Tracker vehicles. En-route you’ll enjoy the unforgettable sight of curious polar bears and take advantage of truly unique photo opportunities.

    Return to the lodge by 4:00 pm to warm up with some hot drinks and tasty appetizers.

  6. Day 6 SEAL RIVER

    Embark on a journey by boat to view belugas, seals, seabirds, and polar bears. Each marine tour offers a dynamic adventure, with unforgettable sights of marine life awaiting your discovery. Beluga whales are very curious and social and will investigate your presence with a bold courage expressed by few other creatures. Getting up-close and personal with these majestic creatures is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. Prepare to see hundreds of whales per outing!

    Your guides have many years of experience in the field both as photographers themselves and through working with professional photographers. They can assist you in many aspects of wildlife photography, including both the composition and the execution of that memorable shot of a lifetime.

  7. Day 7 SEAL RIVER TO CHURCHILL TO WINNIPEG

    After checking out of Seal River Lodge, enjoy a scenic flight back to Churchill.

    Upon your return to Churchill, a representative will store your luggage. The balance of the day is then free for browsing the shops and exhibits of Churchill. Local places such as Cape Merry, the Port of Churchill, the Itsanitaq Museum, the Polar Bear Holding Compound (otherwise known as the Polar Bear Jail), as well as the Parks Canada exhibit, are all of great interest.

    Meet your driver for a transfer to Churchill’s airport.

    Return to Winnipeg this evening via a scenic flight from Churchill.

    Upon arrival at Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport, proceed to walk independently to the Grand Winnipeg Airport Hotel.
