Wander through the historic town square of Freyburg Place, located in the heart of High Street which serves as a popular lunchtime destination for locals. Observe the Suffragette Mural in tree-lined Khartoum Place, honoring the Aucklanders who fought for women’s right to vote. Take a stroll through the lush greenery of Albert Park, a picturesque public parkland with views of Auckland Art Gallery, and the University of Auckland and its heritage precinct.   2. Day 2 AUCKLAND TO WAIHEKE ISLAND

    Travel with Fullers Ferry to Waiheke Island. It’s 92 square kilometers of sandy beaches, vineyards, native bush settings pristine coastline, olive groves, and laid-back seaside villages’ only 40 minutes cruise from downtown Auckland.

    Nestled in the Hauraki Gulf of New Zealand, beautiful Waiheke Island offers a wealth of stunning beachfront and vineyards for you to discover. Embark on an exclusive journey through the island’s pristine white sands with your own private local guide, dedicated to showing you the best the island has to offer. Enjoy a private tour of Waiheke Island’s vineyards, sampling flavorful wines amid backdrops of lush vegetation and crystal blue waters. See for yourself how the sub-tropical Waiheke climate has allowed for a booming industry to be established on the island. Also known for its olive oil production, the island is home to an award-winning olive oil estate, the perfect place to sample delicious creations of this cooking essential. Break for lunch at a vineyard where the menu features a divine selection of food and wine, served with picturesque sea views to match.   3. Day 3 AUCKLAND TO QUEENSTOWN

    Board a flight in Auckland with service to Queenstown. The approximate direct flight duration is one hour and 55 minutes.

    This flight is not included in the price and must be purchased separately.

    Meet your driver for a private transfer between Queenstown and the Domestic Airport.

    This evening, consider dining at one of Queenstown’s many excellent establishments. For a fine dining experience, we recommend Botswana Butchery, Rata, or Eichardt’s Bar. For something quick and casual, Fergburger is a local favorite.

  4. Day 4 QUEENSTOWN

    Of Vineyards and Vintages

    Today your private driver-guide will meet you at your Queenstown accommodation and take you on an outstanding wine tour through the Central Otago region. Your afternoon begins among boutique vineyards and splendid scenery, highlighted by wine tastings at four of the best wineries in the Gibbston, Bannockburn, and Cromwell regions. This outing also includes a delightful gourmet platter lunch at the award-winning Carrick Winery, followed by a leisurely stroll through Old Cromwell Town and a drive through the stunning Kawarau Gorge where you’ll learn about the gold history of the region (time and weather permitting). The duration of the tour is approximately five hours and operates with a maximum of five guests. The tour departs at 12:00 pm and returns at approximately 5:00 pm.

  5. Day 5 QUEENSTOWN

    Lace-Up for Some Fresh Air

    This full-day walk in the ancient beech forest of the Mount Aspiring National Park starts with a scenic drive to the northern end of Lake Wakatipu and into the Routeburn Valley. The high snow-capped mountains provide a magnificent backdrop for the walk up this beautiful river valley. A journey along the edge of the lake from Queenstown to the head of Lake Wakatipu is the ideal preparation for the splendor of the world-famous Routeburn Track. Your walk begins among towering ancient beech forest, climbing gradually through blankets of forest moss and fern and skirting the thundering Routeburn through the gorge it has carved over the millennia. The woodland eventually parts to reveal the rich grassland of Routeburn Flats, overlooked on all sides by cloud-scraping mountains, some so high they have permafrost and small glaciers. The flats are pristine sites for us to enjoy a well-earned lunch, as is the next stop, Routeburn Falls, a short stride through more alpine forest. You and your guide will decide which point suits you best.

  6. Day 6 QUEENSTOWN TO MILFORD SOUND

    Chasing Waterfalls

    You will be transferred from Queenstown to Milford Sound alongside other guests boarding the Fiordland Jewel. On the way, you’ll stop to snap a few photos in the Eglinton Valley at the entrance of the Homer Tunnel, a site of incredible natural beauty that was captured in the Lord of the Rings film trilogy. The approximate travel time is four hours.

    After arriving at the Cruise Milford Desk, you will board the Fiordland Jewel. During winter, embarkation begins at 2:20 pm and departs at 3:00 pm. In summer, embarkation begins at 3:45 pm and the ship departs at 4:15 pm.

    Cruise down the south side of the fiord, past Bowen Falls, Sinbad Gully, the world-renowned Mitre Peak, Mount Pembroke, Bridal Veil Falls, and Fairy Falls. An area of unparalleled beauty, the first hour of the cruise is an outstanding introduction to this gorgeous region. If weather permits, the Fiordland Jewel will cruise into the mouth of the fiord past Anita Bay, and head into the Tasman Sea for a glimpse of the West Coast before returning to the sound. Later in the day, venture up the north side of the fiord past Dale Point, the Piopiotahi Marine Reserve, Seal Rock, Stirling Falls, The Lion, and the Cascade Range. Soon, the anchor will be dropped at Harrison’s Cove or Deepwater Cove, and then you will be invited to explore the surrounding area via onboard sea kayaks before returning to the boat for drinks and dinner.

  7. Day 7 MILFORD SOUND TO QUEENSTOWN

    Sunrise, Sunset

    Dawn arrives at 6:00 am in December but can be as late as 8:00 am in March. Today, watch as a glorious sunrise welcomes in the new day while enjoying breakfast – served from 7:00 to 8:00 am – aboard the Fiordland Jewel before returning to the cruise terminal at 9:00 am.

    You will be transferred to Queenstown, Te Anau, or Glenorchy alongside other guests of the Fiordland Jewel. Travel time varies between two and four hours depending on your onward destination.

    This afternoon, enjoy time at leisure to explore at your own pace or relax at your hotel.
