Along with your guide, you’ll not only discover the city’s history, sights, and sounds, but you’ll also experience a glimpse into daily Aucklander life. Discover Princes Wharf, once a commercial wharf on the city’s waterfront now re-developed into a dazzling hub of bars and eateries, looking out to Waitemata Harbour. Visit the NZ Maritime Museum and learn of the early arrivals to the country, from early Polynesians to the Europeans. Meander through the entertainment district of Viaduct Harbour, home to buzzing nightlife and gourmet experiences. Your guide will also lead you through Wynward Quarter, currently being prepared for the 36th America’s Cup taking place in 2021. Stroll by Auckland’s Fish Market and the luxury superyachts of Silo Park, immersing yourself in authentic Auckland. Your walking tour concludes with a return to your Auckland hotel.

  6. Day 6 NAPIER

    Lose Yourself in Nature

    The setting of Cape Kidnappers is among the most extraordinary in New Zealand. Consistently ranked one of the top hotels in the world, The Farm at Cape Kidnappers is an incredible place to spend the day.

    Expert local guides are available on-site to introduce you to the cape’s many treasures. Optional activities range from an introduction to shepherding to meeting a kiwi bird colony in the wild. Please note that these optional activities may incur additional costs in-destination. Please speak to your Destination Expert should you wish to make any arrangements in advance.

    For those so inclined, the property is home to one of the top 100 golf courses in the world. We would be very pleased to assist with booking a tee time.

  8. Day 8 CHRISTCHURCH

    Get a Lay of the Land

    Set off with your private guide from The George Hotel on a walking tour of beautiful Christchurch, famous for being New Zealand’s ”Garden City”. Stroll through the city’s Botanic Gardens, rich in vibrant flora and featuring a collection of the country’s most exotic plants. Stroll along the Avon River, running through the city center, before admiring the glass architecture of the Christchurch Art Gallery, known as Te Puna o Waiwhetū and home to a unique collection of contemporary exhibitions. Reflect at the Bridge of Remembrance, a war memorial dedicated to those who fought in WWII, and the Canterbury Earthquake Memorial, honoring those who perished in the devastating and historic earthquake of 2011. You’ll also stroll by the Christchurch Transitional Cathedral, also known as the Cardboard Cathedral due to its re-build out of cardboard post-earthquake. The cathedral, renovated by world-renowned architect Shigeru Ban, now serves as a symbol of the city’s resilience. During today’s walking tour, your guide will discuss dining options, street art, and other points of interest en route. The tour concludes finishes at your central hotel.

  9. Day 9 CHRISTCHURCH

    Like a Speeding Bullet

    Journey across the rich agricultural belt of the Canterbury Plains to Springfield to take photos of the mountains rising above you while aboard the famed TranzAlpine train. The voyage through the gorge is spectacular and leads to the massifs of the Southern Alps and Arthur’s Pass. Having arrived at Arthur’s Pass village, join your guide on an adventure that best suits your interests. The first option is the set off to view the Waimakariri River and its unique braided river system. To do so, you’ll follow the old stagecoach route, viewing the spectacular Otira Gorge – a testament to the road builders of the 1860s and the route taken by the Maori in their quest for greenstone – along the way before arriving at the Cave Stream where a thread of water has carved a circular tunnel through an area of limestone cliffs, gorges, and craggy outcrops. The area was featured in the film adaptation of CS Lewis’s The Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe, making it a site of particular interest for nature enthusiasts who also enjoy a good movie. Alternatively, set off with your guide to visit the incredible Castle Hill rocks, unique weather-worn rain outcrops of limestone widely regarded as sacred by the Maori. These incredible formations are simply mesmerizing, made all the more impressive by the backdrop of snow-capped mountains. Following your privately guided adventure in Arthur’s Pass, you’ll return to Christchurch via Porter’s Pass and the Canterbury Plains. Please note: The weather is extreme and unpredictable. In order to ensure an enjoyable experience, please wear a wind- and water-proof jacket, sweater, breathable hiking gear, comfortable hiking shoes, and hat, as well as a day pack with room for water, snacks, camera, sunglasses, sunscreen, and lip balm.

Land, take a stroll and absorb the natural beauty of Fiordland. Your flight then sweeps the full length of the fiord until you reach the rugged West Coast offering a unique opportunity to view seals in their natural colonies.  Experience a glacier landing before touching down at a secret wilderness site for some ”Over the Top” hospitality including Champagne and a cheeseboard. Flights are weather-dependent and subject to the pilot’s discretion.

  12. Day 12 QUEENSTOWN

    A Bit of Time on Your Own

    Spend the day at Matakauri Lodge, one of the finest luxury lodges in New Zealand. Located on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, the views surrounding the property are striking.

    The lodge is truly a sanctuary that lends itself to either extreme relaxation or activity depending on your mood. Just a short drive away from the heart of downtown Queenstown, Matakauri Lodge feels as though it’s a world away. The concierge would be pleased to assist with arranging spa treatments, heli-golf, and/or additional day tours as you might prefer (additional costs apply).
