    The Adventure Begins

Upon arrival in Anchorage, meet your private driver guide for a transfer to your hotel.

Experience the best Anchorage has to offer in a private-guided adventure through Alaska’s largest city.  First, you’ll visit historic Ship Creek, the birthplace of Anchorage as a tent city in 1911. Here, you’ll find a thriving urban salmon stream where downtown anglers often catch salmon on their lunch breaks from work. Continue on to Earthquake Park and Point Woronzof, where you can take in the stunning view of the Anchorage skyline set against the backdrop of the Chugach Mountains and Cook Inlet. Perhaps you’ll be lucky enough to catch sight of a moose along the roadway. Next, it’s on to Lake Hood, known as the busiest seaplane base in the world. Watch as local bush pilots expertly land their planes and taxi to their landing docks. The journey continues with a visit to the incomparable Turnagain Arm and Beluga Point, a hub for majestic scenery and wildlife like Beluga whales, Dall sheep, mountain goats, black bears, and even bald eagles. Stop at Potter’s Marsh and the Anchorage Coastal Wildlife Refuge, a protected wildlife habitat home to many migratory species of birds in the summer. As the tour comes to an end, you’ll head back downtown where your guide will point out the best restaurants, bars, gift shops, and art galleries before bidding farewell.

  2. Day 2 ANCHORAGE

    Lose Yourself in Nature

Explore the scenic Seward Highway accompanied by your private driver-guide in a full-day exploration of the Turnagain Arm waterway. After meeting at your Anchorage hotel, your knowledgeable local driver-guide will whisk you away along one of only 13 highways in the US with the unique distinction of ”All American Road”. Along the way, you’ll enjoy great opportunities to view and photograph diverse wildlife and stunning scenic vistas. You’ll first stop at the ski town of Girdwood to ride a scenic tram that travels to the top of Mt Alyeska. The next stop is Portage, where you can board the MV Ptarmigan for an optional one-hour cruise across the stunning scenery of iceberg-dotted Portage Lake. After the cruise, stop in at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving Alaska’s wildlife. The AWCC takes in injured and orphaned animals year-round, providing spacious enclosures and quality animal care. Here you can experience an up-close encounter with some of the state’s most iconic inhabitants, providing great photo opportunities. Although the animals at the AWCC are unable to be released back into the wild, they are rehabilitated and cared for by a team of dedicated staff. Your tour concludes with a private transfer back to Anchorage.
