    Upon arrival in Anchorage, meet your private driver guide for a transfer to your hotel.

  2. Day 2 ANCHORAGE

    Call of the Wild

    Explore the scenic Seward Highway accompanied by your private driver-guide in a full-day exploration of the Turnagain Arm waterway. Along the way, you’ll enjoy great opportunities to view and photograph diverse wildlife and stunning scenic vistas. Your first stop is the ski town of Girdwood to ride a scenic tram that travels to the top of Mt Alyeska. Take in breathtaking views before continuing the journey to stunning Portage Valley, home to hanging glaciers, frozen waterfalls, and Portage Lake. Your final stop is the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving Alaska’s wildlife. The AWCC takes in injured and orphaned animals year-round, providing spacious enclosures and quality animal care. Here you can experience an up-close encounter with some of the state’s most iconic inhabitants, providing great photo opportunities. Although the animals at the AWCC are unable to be released back into the wild, they are rehabilitated and cared for by a team of dedicated staff. Your tour then concludes with a private transfer back to Anchorage.

  3. Day 3 ANCHORAGE

    Breathe the Mountain Air

    Meet your private driver-guide at your Anchorage accommodation before setting off to explore the breathtaking Matanuska Glacier, one of Alaska’s premier destinations. At 27 miles long and 4 miles wide, Matanuska is Alaska’s largest glacier accessible by road. Marvel at the ice that formed thousands of years ago, nestled high in the Chugach Mountains. Your day will start with a magnificent scenic drive along the Glenn Highway with stunning mountain vistas and plenty of time for photo stops. The drive then meanders east along the Matanuska River Valley before ending at the toe of the glacier. From here you’ll don your ice cleats and helmets and begin traversing the glacier on foot. Due to the dynamic nature of Matanuska, each day offers a unique experience as you walk for three miles on the ice. This once-in-a-lifetime tour can be easily customized to suit your interests, allowing you to fully immerse yourself within the wonders of this scenic marvel. Your tour concludes with a private transfer back to your accommodation in Anchorage.

    Enjoy a private transfer to Ted Stevens International Airport today.

    Board a flight in Anchorage with service to Fairbanks. The flight duration is approximately one hour and 5 minutes.

  5. Day 5 FAIRBANKS

    A Sight To Behold

    Experience the majesty of the White Mountains in an exclusive six-hour tour through the spectacular Alaskan backcountry. Meet your private tour guide at the basecamp’s front desk to learn the basics of riding snowmobiles (called snowmachines in Alaska). After gearing up, it’s time to hit the trail. Journey north alongside the Trans Alaska Pipeline until you reach the opening to the White Mountains recreation area. Here you can enjoy a hot drink and snacks before driving to a lookout point located 13 miles from Borealis Basecamp. On arrival, your personal guide will prepare a hot lunch to keep you fueled for adventure. Immerse yourself in unforgettable snow-capped scenery before returning to camp. This incredible experience includes advanced arctic snow gear to keep you warm the whole way, a hot lunch, continuous hot coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, snacks, and hand warmers.

  6. Day 6 FAIRBANKS

    Enjoy some self-guided adventure and explore the area’s winter wonderland with a snowshoeing excursion. Grab a pair of snowshoes from the basecamp’s Guide Staff and meander along maintained trails throughout the property. Snowshoes are available for check out from the front desk free of charge during your entire stay.

    An enchanting thrill awaits with a dog sled excursion at Borealis Basecamp. Join your expert ’musher’ and ride along the 800-mile Trans-Alaska Pipeline, passing through an active trapline. Your mushing guide will describe life along the rugged trail as the sled dog team swings through the snowy forest.

    Depart Borealis Basecamp with a private transfer to Fairbanks Airport. The approximate travel time is 45 minutes.
