Koh Lipe | Thailand | A Guide To Paradise Island Of Thailand

The island of Koh Lipe is where the ‘paradise’ ideal comes true. Green palm palms bend over white sand beaches and clear waters, creating a real-life heaven. Koh Lipe is a small tropical island off the coast of Thailand, near Langkawi, Malaysia. Because of its position, it is a little more difficult to get, which is why it is still a little off the beaten path when it comes to Thailand’s “must-see” attractions. Prepare to spend your days on the beach with a coconut in your hand since Koh Lipe is the place to go for a relaxing vacation in Thailand.

Things To Do in Koh Lipe

In comparison to Krabi or Bangkok, Koh Lipe is far less crowded. It is not a party island; thus, it attracts a different type of visitor. The small tropical island is about beaches and can be toured on a bicycle in 30 minutes. These are the activities to do at Thailand’s Koh Lipe.

  • The Best Beaches of Koh Lipe

Relax on some of Koh Lipe’s most beautiful beaches. There are three large beaches as well as a few smaller, less-frequented beaches. You will not run out of space on the beaches because they are wide.

Sunrise Beach (west) boasts the nicest beach bars and is certainly the best for sunrises. Opposite Ten Moons Lipe Resort lies a small secret beach.

The ideal place to see the sun set into the water is Sunset Beach (east). It is not as pristine and white as the others, but it’s perfect for watching the sunset while sipping a fresh coconut. Pitiusas Beach can be found a little further down the island.

The port is located on Pattaya Beach (south), which is a long stretch of white sand that merges with the lesser-known Sanom Beach.

  • Snorkeling or Kayak

Snorkeling, diving, and kayaking are all popular activities on Koh Lipe. The clear water makes for ideal snorkeling and diving conditions. Colorful fish and corals may be seen all around the island, however the corals are steadily vanishing due to global warming and our normal (toxic) sunscreens.

  •  Koh Adang Day Trip

Koh Adang is the much larger brother of Koh Lipe. It is easy to get there through a longtail boat transfer from Sunrise Beach.

Koh Adang is desolate, but for a tiny restaurant and resort, and is ideal for a day trip to the viewpoint, beach, and little waterfall.

  • Beach bars

Even though it is not a party island, Koh Lipe has a superb range of beach bars where you may spend your days. Drinks are a little pricier than in other trendy areas like Koh Tao or Bangkok, but the breathtaking sunsets more than compensate.

Spend your afternoon at: Sea la Vie beach bar, Maya bar and Castaway Resort.

  • Walking Street

After nightfall, the road leading from Pattaya Beach to Sunrise Beach becomes a pedestrian-only roadway. This 600-meter-long strip is home to a plethora of fantastic restaurants and good handicraft businesses (such as Munay Designs).

At the ‘market-like’ eateries, local Thai cuisine, such as freshly caught fish, may be found. On Koh Lipe, walking down the street is a fantastic activity.
